Quilting

Something came to my mind when I was typing up the last post that I thought I could post here.. On Friday morning while we were out of the systems so the bosses could update the records of the previous week work that we just got done with.. I was chatting with another lady who sits on the other side of my cubicle, we call her Jr. and she does sewing etc. which everyone in the office knows about it..

I told her what mom's friends did by getting some lap quilts made and donate it to the battered women shelter.. and I thought it'd be a great idea if the ladies in the office would get together and make quilts and donate it to the area rescue ministries (a homeless shelter) in knoxville.. for the cold weather.. and So all the ladies that I talked to thought it was a great idea.. although some can't sew but they said they'd donate materials..


Jr. said that I was in charge of it because it was my idea since I brought it up hmmmm... Puts me in a spot cause I have NEVER been good at being in charge of something like this.. Soooo I talked to mom and mary yesterday and asked them if they could help me with this project and they said yes they would help...

So now I'm working on how much materials we would need etc. so we can get the stuff together and have it done by 1st week of Dec. so we can donate it to the homeless shelter in time.. I am wanting to make quilts for the adults but at the same time I'd like to make some for kids.. cause unfortunely we know that children can be in these shelters with their parents.. So I thought maybe I can make some children quilts also..

So what do u guys think?? even though I'm feeling kinda weird about being in charge of this.. but at the same time.. I'm happy that we can do something like this for people who are down on their lucks right now.. especially with loss of jobs etc. and losing their home.. the least we could do is help them stay warm this winter right???

Bed

Well.. I guess I had forgotten to update about the bed huh?? Well.. After I had posted that we were finally getting a new bed and it would be delivered on the 22nd of July..

On Thursday the 13th of July, I had gotten a call from the lady at the store who said the bed was already there and that they would deliver it on Friday and if it was ok with me.. I told her yes and I became thrilled with that hehe..

Friday Morning sure enough the guy called me at 6:45 in the morning to tell me they would be here between 11 and 2 pm.. I told him that would be just fine.. So at 11:00 I had left work and came home and broke down the bed that we had and got the room vaccumed when the guy called me saying he was on his way here and needed directions so I gave it to him.. within 20 mins he was here... (which meant that I would be at work before 2) and there were 3 guys there.. 1 guy set up the frames, and the other 2 brought in the mattress and box springs.. they were really nice guys and I was impressed with the way they did their service on making sure that I was happy with everything..

That first night.. Robert had a hard time sleeping since it's something new and he had to get used to it.. But for me.. I WAS DEAD ASLEEP.. I didn't feel him get in bed.. and there was more room where I didn't get on his side and push him to the edge either.. I think he likes that part LOL..

It's now 3 weeks since I got it and we both love the bed.. I do sleep better now except when Max sleeps with us then it's a bad night sleep but he's only slept with us a couple of times.. :)

Now I'm gonna work on getting the laundry room fixed up then we can worry about fixing up the kitchen.. I want a new stove, new cabinets and new dishwasher, new freezer(we have a deep freezer and I want a standing up freezer) I'm gonna create a headache for Robert LOL

Absolutely nothing to post!!!

Well.. I been asked when I was gonna update my blog and really.. there isn't anything great to post!!!

I lead a very dull life.. I wake up in the mornings, go to work then come home eat supper spend some time on the computer or watching tv then go to sleep.. and that's about it.. so what really is exciting to post hmmmm... Really NOTHING!!!

Last Tuesday I asked dad if he could go to Lowe's with us as I needed his truck as I had planned to buy a lawn mower.. I really hated to ask bucky if we could borrow his as I know he needs his to mow their grass and they always have to wait on dad and me to finish with the mower and we really really needed the grass cut so Dad, Mom, Robert and I went to Lowe's and at first Robert and I had considered buying a riding lawn mower but we decided not to do that and went inside the store and looked at some push mower, Robert wanted the automatic push or key start so it'd be easier... but we didn't see any but I had asked Robert to go get a salesman cause I had a question.. But when Robert was getting the salesman he said there's a lawnmower on clearance by the desk where the salesman was at.. so Dad and I went and looked and it was a lawnmower with a key start (I think Robert had the man put it there so we'd get it hehe)... We (Dad and I) asked the man a lot of quesitons about it .. and I asked daddy if it was a good deal and if he thought it would be a good lawn mower.. Daddy finally after thinking about it .. ( Why do men make a long time to make a decision??) Daddy said it would be a good one.. So I told the man we'd take it but that we were gonna do some more shopping and to hold it.. Robert and I went and bought a new trash can since really our 2 cans we got at home were soo small and it'd fill up way before trash day which is on Friday.. so we bought a new one and then got the lawn mower and brought it home...

We had to plug it up so that way we could use it the next day.. I got to use it the first time cutting dad's front yard and man did it have power!! it practically almost like a dog pulling u while taking a walk.. I about fell forward a few times when I pulled the lever to get it going.. Robert used the lawn mower to cut our yard and he liked it a lot.. Tori was the first to cut dad's back yard with it and she told me she liked it too.. so I think we did good with the purchase of it.. I am now gonna start thinking about getting a gas weedeater when it goes on sale at the end of the season.. I thought buying a weedeater that I already have was a good idea.. but now I see that it isn't ugh.... But hopefully I can find one that isn't so heavy for me and Robert..

See how exciting our lives are.. lol nothing realy happens to us!!!

Finally getting....

4 Years ago when Robert and I first got together.. he had a bed that he and his ex wife shared and I was never really comfortable with sleeping on the same bed.. but I got over it for a while but always complained about the bed not being comfortable to sleep on etc. but we never really could get a new bed anyway...

We moved into this house and I knew that the bedroom could fit a king bed in it with some room to walk around in.. Because my sister had a king bed in it, But I still wanted to get a new bed eventually. Robert and I started having some back problems with the bed and it would hurt to get up from the bed etc. so yesterday we just happened to go to HH Gregg store which is in Powell that just opened up about a month ago, We had been in there before but they had opened up that day but things were still not organized and all that so we decided to leave.. so we went in there and looked around it's kinda like a "mini best buy store" .. I eventually worked my way back of the store where the mattresses were at.. and looked around and saw the prices.. loved the mattresses but they were around 1,000 and up, now in my mind I knew I wanted a QUEEN bed.. (right now we're sleeping on a full "double" bed) So I went around the area and found a bed that I just absolutely loved!!! and so I had Robert lay down on it and he liked it.. it was a pillow top bed!! we looked at the price sand I knew that it wasn't a bad deal..

The salesman there in that area wasn't really very friendly at all, so I wasn't really comfortable talking to him.. we walked out of the area and I asked robert what do you think about applying for credit, I knew we wouldn't be able to get a big credit line but something small that we could work our ways up to something we can afford on getting a mattress set.. He looked at me and said ok.. So we applied and got approved for financing to get the bed set..

So now we are waiting for the bed set to arrive, they didn't have it stock so it might be about 1 to 2 weeks before we will get our new bed.. but still WE FINALLY ARE UPGRADING TO A NEW QUEEN BED!!!! YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE

I told Robert that it came up in my mind that THIS IS THE LAST thing to finally get out of the house that belonged to him and his ex wife!! so now everything in the house is mine and his.. nothing with his ex wife hehe..

I'm just so excited about the new bed.. I know it's pathetic to get excited about a new bed but I just am!! I even went to Wal Mart and got a new bed in a bag and an extra set of sheets just for this new bed.. but I put it on layaway until we get the new bed..
